Salters Festival of Chemistry 2019

Students head to Bournemouth and Poole College to put their Chemistry knowledge to the test.

On Friday 21st June, four of our students from Year 8 attended a Salters Festival of chemistry at Bournemouth and Poole College.

The students enjoyed participating in two competitions and used their chemistry knowledge to solve the two mysteries. The team were complimented on their ability to record detailed observations and on their ability to work as a together.

The final part of the day was watching the lab supervisor carrying out some spectacular demonstrations that we would not normally carry out in our chemistry lessons. We were very proud to be awarded second place in the Salters competition and again a second place for the College competition.

We hope the experience will make these enthusiastic young chemists even keener to pursue a career in science.
