Music GCSE Showcase Performance Evening 2018

Many thanks to all of our GCSE music students who performed and contributed to a very successful and enjoyable evening.

Around forty students were involved in an evening that showcased their hard work and weeks of preparation rehearsing and refining their ensemble pieces ready for the GCSE coursework performance.

Pieces were chosen by the students and each group independently organised student-led rehearsals during their lunchtimes and after-school sessions. The quality of the work submitted this year was in many cases exceptional and attaining the top grade band at GCSE level.

We also had performances that demonstrated the highest level of musicianship and went beyond the GCSE marking criteria. We are looking forwards to the quality of the performances we will see in the future and in the next phase of their musical education at Key Stage 5 and wish all our students the best of luck in their final GCSE exams.
