If you have concerns about your exam results please see here. PLEASE NOTE DEADLINES APPLY

If you have any concerns about your examination results, after consultation with your teacher, you may wish to apply for a copy of your script, a clerical check or a review of marking. Please be aware that there are deadlines for these services, which may fall during the school holidays and fees may be payable.  Please see below for details of services available, the deadlines and details of how to apply.

Before making an application for Post Result Services please carefully read all the following information.

Priority Services Available

If you are considering a Priority Service (below) you need to speak to your subject teacher on results day.

• Priority - Post-results review of marking
*For GCE A-level candidates if a place in higher education is dependent on the outcome. (Any applications not meeting this criteria will be treated as normal Service 2 requests.)

This is a post-results review of the original marking to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly. It is not a re-marking of the candidate’s script.

The service is available for externally assessed components.
This service will include:
 the clerical re-checks detailed in Service 1, detailed below;
 a review of marking as described above;
 if requested, a copy of the reviewed script(s) for those units/components included as part of the Access to Scripts service. (If the nature of the unit/component is such that access to scripts cannot be arranged, such as externally assessed GCE AS and GCE A2 Modern Foreign Language Speaking tests, then a report/copy of the record sheet may be requested.

Available for externally assessed components:
GCE *see above.
GCSE (Edexcel Exams only.)

• Priority Script
A Copy of relevant scripts before deciding whether to lodge an enquiry about results.

Available for: GCE and GCSE all Exam boards

If you are unable to speak to your subject teacher on the morning of results day you need to see the 6th Form Advice Surgery Team in school between 08:00 AM and 12:00 Noon in IT4 on 15th August or 08:00 and 1:00 PM on 23rd August in the hall or covered way.

How to Apply
Post Results Services application forms will be available from the Data and Examinations Office and the 6th Form Advice Surgery Team on 15th and 22nd August (results day) and from 3rd September until the deadlines listed below.

For any of the enquiries about results or access to scripts services listed the candidate’s signature on the Post Results Services application form is required to confirm consent.   (Fully informed consent from the candidate is also acceptable by e-mail from the school email account only.)

For a Priority Post Result Review of Marking or a Priority Access to Scripts request a completed form must be received by the Examinations Officer and (if applicable) payment must be made via Wisepay no later than 12:00 noon on Thursday 22nd August.

(Fees may apply.)

Access to Scripts (ATS)

• Priority Script
As above

If a GCE A-level or a Level 3 Principal Learning candidate is thinking of having a Priority Service 2 enquiry about results, an application for a priority copy must not be requested. Centres should progress straight to a Priority Service 2 enquiry about results, given the amount of time available for this service.
Centres will receive the copies by no later than 5th September 2019.

DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATION (AND PAYMENT IF APPLICABLE):  Thursday 22nd August 12:00 NOON.

• Non-Priority Original Scripts (to support teaching and learning  )
Centres will be able to request copies of relevant scripts to support teaching and learning.

• Copy of Reviewed Scripts (To be requested at the same time as the ROR request)
A copy of the reviewed script to be delivered after the review has been completed.

Conditions of Access to Scripts (ATS) service:

Awarding bodies will only release scripts to centres under the following conditions:
• Scripts must only be seen by teachers who are members of staff at that centre or within a consortium of centres, or returned directly to candidates.
• Where teaching staff intend to use scripts for teaching and learning purposes or as examples for other students, prior written permission must be obtained from the candidates concerned.
• This permission must be sought only after the candidates have received their results for the respective examination series. Candidates who grant their permission have the right to anonymity of their scripts before use.  (Written consent from the candidate is also acceptable by e-mail.)
• A candidate has the right to instruct their centre not to request their scripts.
• The originals of scripts that are or have been the subject of any malpractice investigation can be withheld by an awarding body. In these circumstances, a photocopy of the scripts may be requested.
• Once an awarding body has returned an original hard copy script to a centre or a private candidate, its security is compromised and it can no longer be subject to an enquiry about results.

Which service do I want?

Frequently Asked Questions

A Higher Education place is at stake – which service shall I use?
You should apply for a Priority Service 2 review of marking. You only have until 22nd August to request a Priority Service 2 ROR. Please note that you cannot ask for a priority copy of the script.

I just want to see the candidate’s script and do not want a review of the marking
You should request scripts to support teaching and learning.

I want to see a script to decide whether to have its marking reviewed
You should ask for a priority copy of the script to support a review of marking. (You cannot do this for AQA GCSE qualifications scripts.)

If I ask for the return of a script (not a copy) can I use that to decide whether or not to have the marking reviewed?
No.
Firstly, awarding bodies do not despatch scripts to support teaching and learning until after the deadline for enquiries about results. Secondly, where an original hard copy script is in the centre’s possession, its security is compromised and it cannot then be accepted for a review of marking.

I want to see a script after it has undergone a review of the original marking
You should request Service 2 (a mark review) or Priority Service 2 (a priority mark review)
and make sure that you request a copy when submitting your request. The script will be reviewed and the copy sent to you when the service is completed.   It is strongly recommended that you do not ask for a review of marking, and then separately ask for the return of the script to support teaching and learning.

PLEASE NOTE:  WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ACCEPT REQUESTS FOR ANY SERVICES IF WE RECEIVE THEM AFTER THE DEADLINE, WE DO NOT HAVE WRITTEN CONSENT OR ANY APPLICABLE FEES HAVE NOT BEEN PAID.
