Highcliffe Castle Spring Exhibition 2017 | Highcliffe School

Highcliffe Castle Spring Exhibition 2017

Year 12 and 13 Textile students demonstrate a stunning portrayal of ‘independence’, explored through the medium of textiles.

The students’ creative work offers unique and thought provoking installations showing versatility and an understanding of both concept and personal response.

The Year 12 Textile students’ individual outcomes developed from a starting point of ‘surface decoration’ into unique and creative textile pieces. Tactile wall-hangings and oversized sculptural cushions really do open our eyes into the wider world of textile design.

The Year 13 Textile students’ outcomes showcase personal responses from very individual starting points; the stunning dresses and thought provoking installations offer both beauty and elegance, with an insight into the world of contextual art and concept.

We are incredibly proud of our Textile students who have produced work of outstanding creativity, variety and technical excellence.

The exhibition also highlights the quality of teaching across the curriculum area and the enviable facilities offered in our Da Vinci building. Students benefit from this exciting learning space and develop excellent working relationships with our enthused and dedicated staff.

As always, we are grateful to our friends at Highcliffe Castle for their help in staging the work and for providing such a wonderful venue.
