Our day at Abbots Hill - Lesley Waters Cook School

We were lucky enough to win a day at Lesley Waters Cookery School after competing in the Christchurch food festival junior chef competition. Mrs Rowe accompanied us for what was an amazing experience.

As we drove into the yard the first thing that struck us was the sight of a stunning old barn which housed the cookery school situated next to a beautiful farmhouse. Abbots Hill, Lesley’s home and cook school, is situated high up on a hill with panoramic views, approx. seven miles outside Yeovil.

We arrived in good time after a long drive and were eager to get started.

The recipes we made were:
Greek and Italian inspired flavoured breads.
Goats cheese soufflé omelette with pear and walnut salad
French apple tarte tatin served with Chantilly cream.

After cooking up a storm we set the table and sat and ate the food for lunch. The day was brilliant and we left with fond memories, new techniques/ skills and inspiring new recipes.
