Excellence Thrives at Highcliffe Sixth

Highcliffe Sixth has been placed as the top performing Sixth Form in Dorset and competes at the top level nationally, across a wide range of subjects.


Headteacher, Patrick Earnshaw said: “We are delighted to have been rated top performing Sixth Form in Dorset and our outstanding results place us firmly in the top 10% of Sixth Forms nationally. At subject level, our A Level results further demonstrate the impressive academic and creative excellence of Highcliffe Sixth, with the follow results officially published this week”:
 
Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) - best results in the country
Chemistry – highest overall performance over three years in Dorset
Biology – best results in Dorset for 3 years running and in top 1% of the country in 2016
Maths – highest performing in Dorset
Further Maths – highest performing in Dorset
PE – second highest performing in Dorset
Art, Design and Textiles – highest performing in Dorset over three years
Product Design – highest performing in Dorset over three years and in top 1% of the country
Film Studies – highest performing in Dorset over three years
Sociology – highest performing in Dorset over three years and top in the country for 2016
Spanish – joint highest in Dorset over three years
Geography – joint highest performing in Dorset in 2016
BTEC – overall progress for our BTEC courses places Highcliffe in the top 20% nationally

These achievements express the outstanding teaching and learning we have at Highcliffe Sixth. Our students are encouraged to aspire to the highest levels of achievement through effective tutorial support and guidance.

Our reputation for academic excellence and successfully placing students on courses at top universities continues to thrive this year with an impressive 41% of our 2016 cohort attending one of the Russell Group or top universities.
