Netball Tournament 2016

It has been a great year for Netball at Highcliffe School. For the first time ever Year 7, 8, 9 and 10 team reached the county finals.

The Year 10 team performed the best in their county finals by reaching the play-offs.

They beat Bryanston School on goal difference and faced a very strong Bournemouth School for Girls team. The Highcliffe team was extremely unlucky to lose by one goal which was scored in the dying seconds of the game. Throughout the tournament every member of the team played exceptionally well and kept their composure in many high pressured situations.

They are the third best team in Dorset and the best state school team in Dorset. Another achievement worth noting is that the Year 9 netball team has reached every county final since they started in Year 7. This is another first for Highcliffe School.

In related news the Girls PE staff have asked me to point out that as a fundraising event for Sport Relief the Female Staff vs Male Staff Netball match resulted in a comprehensive 4-1 victory for the female staff and raised over £100 in ticket sales to students eager to support a good cause.
