Year 10 visit to Oriel College, Oxford

On the 23rd February we went on a trip to Oriel College, which is part of Oxford University.

During this trip we had a detailed tour around the stunning college grounds, where we were able to view the beautiful buildings and learn a bit about the college’s history. We were also fortunate enough to have an informative presentation from a previous student and look at the courses available at Oxford University and which subjects would be best to take in the Sixth Form to enrol onto these courses.

In addition, we were lucky enough to have lunch in Oriel’s dining hall, which really illustrated university life. We also got the opportunity to see the accommodation available at Oriel. This was really interesting as it showed us the reality of living at university.

We were then able to go on a tour of the Ashmolean Museum with an archaeologist, and passed the famous Radcliffe Camera on our way. The entire opportunity was inspiring and thought-provoking as it allowed us to start to plan our paths into university and the choices available.
