Success in European Union Translation Competition

Congratulations to Ella Scriven in Year 13 and Dana Stoffner-Kerschbaumer in Year 12

Both have been selected for a Special Mention Award in the European Union Juvenes Translatores Competition.

This is the third year Highcliffe has been selected to take part in the Europe-wide competition (only 70 schools in the UK are able to take part), but the first time that any of our students have been selected for this award. Only 30 students out of the 300 UK students who took part were selected for the award, which the European Union created to recognise translation work with excellent use of target language, with very few errors and which was also creative yet true to the original meaning. Well done to both of the girls.

Congratulations also to Alice Ritchie, Jenna Slade and Alberto Arevalo Delgado for also taking part in the very challenging competition.
