On the 3rd December 60 Year 7 Historians supported by the Year 12 Student Ambassadors had the interesting opportunity to listen to local historian Phil Taite speak all about Christchurch during the Anarchy; a time when Stephen and Matilda were both fighting for the throne of England.
Following the talk the students will then be researching the local history of the period before creating a big presentation which will be used to teach Year 9 Expressive Arts students as well as help us to bid for Heritage Lottery money. The aim is to create for the summer both an exhibition at The Red House Museum as well as a performance piece.
The whole project has as its title ‘Royal Blood’ is supported by the Hampshire Cultural Trust.
