Twilight Language Programme 2019

Enrolment evening: Tuesday 17th September 2019 – 3:30pm – 5:00pm. Come along to meet the tutors and discuss the courses.

You can also enrol in the sessions themselves in subsequent weeks if you miss the first enrolment, space permitting.

Classes start: Week beginning Monday 23rd September and run until mid July. 

Cost: £60 

Courses Offered: 

Talk French: Tuesdays 3:30pm – 4:30pm

For learners with little or no previous knowledge of French. It will loosely follow the BBC Talk French programme.  The tutor is Mrs Marianne Walton, a native speaker of French from Belgium. She has been a stalwart member of the Highcliffe Languages team for the last fifteen years.  

French Intermediate: Wednesdays 3:30pm – 4:30pm

For learners who have already grasped the basics of French. It will loosely follow the BBC Talk 2 Programme. The course tutor is Mrs Marianne Walton (see above). If you attended last year please feel free to enrol again! 

Fast Track Beginners’ Japanese: Tuesdays 3:30pm – 4:30pm 

An introduction to the Japanese language, writing system and culture.  Emphasis on conversational skills, though other skills will be covered.  The tutor is Mr David Bryden who lived in Japan for 10 years and has extensive knowledge of the country, its language and people.  He also maintains strong links with Japan and has organised exchange visits for Highcliffe and Japanese students. If you attended last year, please feel free to enrol again – Mr Bryden will help you revise and extend your knowledge of Japanese whilst helping beginners to move quickly to a similar standard.

*All classes and the staffing offered are dependent on sufficient numbers for the class to run.
