Curriculum Changes - Department for Education

GCSEs and A levels are changing from September 2015. The Department for Education have changed the structure and content of GCSEs and A levels.


The key GCSE points are a move to exams at the end of the course instead of a modular approach, a change in the grading system and  an increase in the demands required of students.

 

The main A level  points are to make the AS and the A level separate qualifications and to involve Universities more in the development of the new courses.  At AS/A level there is no plan to change either the grading structure or the level of ‘demand’ of the course.
