BBC News School Report 2015

Students from Highcliffe School will be making the news for real on 19 March 2015 as they take part in BBC News School Report.

We have been given the opportunity to take part in a project run by the BBC. The aim of the project is to give children at secondary school, the opportunity to see what it would be like to work in the media industry.

We were given six hours to create a news report which included filming, editing and uploading it to our school website.  We chose to do our report on the recent cyclone in Vanuatu.

On 14th March 2015 Cyclone Pam tore apart Vanuatu leaving thousands of people homeless. With everything swept away by the cyclone, they have nothing left. We thought this was important as not many people had heard of it and we thought their story should be publicised more as it is their lives at risk. We get to raise awareness and get people to donate money to charities helping Vanuatu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our day and we hope that you enjoy watching our BBC School News Report.
