Hands-on Computing

In year 9 Computing, the students have started to undertake the mission of taking apart computers themselves.

It is important that the students get a first-hand experience of what the inside of a computer actually looks and contains, therefore gaining an understanding of how it works. The students have identified pieces of hardware within the computer that they had learnt about theoretically in previous lessons. Now they are able to see the shape, size and get a real-life concept of what each piece of a computer looks like, their knowledge moves from the printed page to a 3D world.

The students will have to complete a PowerPoint presentation to explain everything inside the computers and how the machine works. These include Hard-drive, RAM, ROM, Power Supply, CPU, Motherboard and many more!
