A Level Results 2014

This year’s A level examination results are amongst the best achieved at Highcliffe and maintain the School’s position as a leading provider of Sixth Form studies.

We are delighted to announce that the trend of gaining Oxbridge places every year continues. Jacob Brennan will progress to Oxford to study Languages (French and Spanish) and Chris Slade will study Mathematics.

Almost 25% of grades gained were A*/A grades.
44% of grades gained were A*/A/B.
66% of grades gained were A*/A/B/C.

Top achieving students include:
Jacob Brennan A*A*A*A*A - Oxford
Christopher Slade A*A*AAB - Oxford
Nathan Dreifuss A*A*AAB
Oliver Harrald A*A*AB
Alex Field
Laura Clifford
Craig Lord
Theresia Morandell
Laura Reid
Finn Heasman
Benjamin Moore

All of whom gained all 2 or more A* and A grades in their results.

Students studying Diplomas in Business, Dance, Drama, PE and Child Care scored very highly with the majority (70%) of grades at *Distinction/Distinction/Merit levels.

A similar trend is being shown with our current year 12 students, which is really promising for next year as well.

Headteacher, Judith Potts said:
"A very warm congratulations to all our students. These grades are exceptionally good, as ever. My thanks go to our students, staff and parents who have all worked so hard together to achieve these excellent results.

We are very fortunate to be working with a range of prestigious establishments including Oxford and Cambridge Universities, the Russell Group of Universities, The Arts University College Bournemouth, Bournemouth University, Southampton University, The Institute of Physics and the STEM network, all of whom help us to prepare our students so effectively for their chosen degree courses. I would like to extend a special thanks to these partners."

Anna Karanja, Director of Sixth Form was thrilled with the results and said:
"We again have a record number of students going to University this year.  This includes our continuing trend of students progressing year on year to Oxbridge as well a wide range of the Russell Group of Universities.

We are extremely proud of our students and it is fantastic news! We are so pleased that 25% of our students gained A*/A grades.
With over 66% of all grades at grade C or above we expect that most students will be taking their first choice University place.  My congratulations to all the students. This is a great day to celebrate!"
