Ciaran is in his second year of London Irish Silver Group academy, under the guidance of Billy Clarke, Giselle Mather and Declan Danagher (first team Captain) and was thrilled to be called up for his London Irish first match against Wellington College on 6th March 2014, which they won 26-0 at Maidenhead RFC.

Ciaran played football and rugby since the age of 5 and when it came to choosing at the age of 11, he followed his passion for rugby.  The step up from club rugby was difficult as Ciaran  has a busy training schedule, as he is expected to train at least 3 times a week and most weeks has a game on Sunday.  Physical strength and stamina are important when playing at this level so he is also expected to do at least one gym session as well.  As passing is a key skill his coach also says he should be doing at least 50 passes off each hand a day which he uses as his explanation for another breakage in the lounge when it has been too wet or and dark to pass outside.  Amongst all this he has to fit in school work and study, facing the wrath of his parents should his grades slip.

His dedication to the game has meant sacrifices over the years and many early morning starts and late finishes and on occasions not being able to hang out with his friends or go to the party everyone else is going to.  But hopefully, his dedication is paying off with more and more representative rugby helping to realise his ambition to possibly play international rugby, more specifically to play No 9 for Ireland.
