Performing Arts Workshop

Year 12 and 13 BTEC acting, music and dance students recently had the amazing opportunity to work with ex- student and musical theatre actor Matthew Jeans.

Since training at the Urdang Academy, Matthew has gone on to star in several successful productions including Grease, Jack and the Beanstalk and Sweeney Todd  and is currently waiting to begin rehearsals for Cameron Mackintosh’s  West End production of Miss Saigon.

Matthew delivered an energetic and challenging workshop using music and choreography from ‘Hairspray’ and scripted dialogue from ‘We Will Rock You’ affording the opportunity for all performing arts students to work in a variety of art forms.  Matthew also gave invaluable advice to students considering a career in the industry giving them a clear insight into the business.
