Year 12 BTEC Acting students are currently working with the Red Cross to plan and develop a Theatre in Education package which will be toured to local schools. The project will concern the issue of refugees, asylum seekers, internally displaced persons and economic migrants and through the use of drama, our students’ aim will be to educate the workshop participants. BTEC students will be using the technique of Forum Theatre developed by the Brazilian activist and drama practitioner, Augusto Boal. The Red Cross are very keen to incorporate this project into their own educational work with schools nationwide.
