A Level Results 2013

This year’s A level examination results are amongst the best ever achieved at Highcliffe.

We are delighted that two students have gained places at Oxford University.  Most students have been successful in gaining places on their chosen courses.  Once again the highest standards are maintained at Highcliffe. The pass rate is at over 98% for all students gaining A2 level results.

26% of grades gained were A*/A grades.
51% of grades gained were A*/A/B.
80% of grades gained were A*/A/B/C.

Top achieving students include:
Phoebe Barnett (Oxford)
Francesca Crisante (Oxford)
Jack Radford
Madeleine Bell
James Bonney
Emily-Rose Caine
Johnathon Cann
Josephine Dear
Abigail Leakey
Keziah Leary
Emilia McCarthy
Coral Norton
Matthew Runnalls
Michael Smith

all of whom gained a majority of A* and A grades in their results.

Students studying Diplomas in Business, Dance, Drama, PE and Child Care scored very highly with just under 50% gaining Distinction or *Distinction grades.

A similar trend is being shown with our current year 12 students, which is really promising for next year as well.

Headteacher, Judith Potts said:
“A very warm congratulations to all our students. These grades are exceptionally good, as ever. My thanks go to our students, staff and parents who have all worked so hard together to achieve these excellent results.

We are very fortunate to be working with a range of prestigious establishments including Oxford and Cambridge Universities, the Russell Group of Universities, The Arts University College Bournemouth, Bournemouth University, Southampton University and The Institute of Physics, all of whom help us to prepare our students so effectively for their chosen degree courses. I would like to extend a special thanks to these partners.”

Anna Karanja, Director of Sixth Form was thrilled with the results and said:
“We again have a record number of students going to University this year.  This includes our continuing trend of students progressing to Oxbridge as well a wide range of the Russell Group of Universities.

We are extremely proud of our students and it is fantastic news! We are so pleased that 26% of our students gained all A*/A grades across the board. With over 80% of all grades at grade C or above we expect that most students will be taking their first choice University places.  My congratulations to all the students. This is a great day to celebrate!”
