On the Road Again!

Year 12 BTEC Acting students took to the road recently to tour their Theatre in Education project in our local feeder schools.

Based on the topic of Peer Pressure, the project develops this theme in relation to alcohol and drugs.

Using a variety of drama conventions such as hot-seating, forum theatre, mantle of the expert, thought-tracking and conscience alley, Year 6 students engaged in role play and discussion in order to come to a greater understanding of the effects of drugs and were given strategies of how to resist peer pressure.

Feedback from both the participants and staff at the schools was very positive and our Year 12s have gained a real insight into how a professional Theatre in Education company operates.
