A Partnership in progress

Parents, carers and families are by far the most important influences in a child's life. MyHighcliffe, now over 10 years old, has recently undergone a number of developments to make it easier for parents to support the education of their children.

New Look
The new look brings the parents site in line with the other versions and has been designed to work on tablet computers, laptops and desktops. Parents can now access progress monitoring (see below), past profiles and progress check reports, attendance statistics and records, the merit log, the log of websites visited from a school computer, timetable and the home study log showing all homework set and due dates.

Smartphone App – have you installed it yet?
From within MyHighcliffe for parents you can now turn on mobile access which will give you your own personal FeedID which when combined with the smart phone app (available on Android, iOS, Windows Mobile and BlackBerry). Alternatively you can access most of the same information, still on your phone, by visiting our mobile site at m.myhighcliffe.com and following the relevant links. More information about how to set this up on your own phone can be found within MyHighcliffe and if you need any further help please contact IT Support at the school who will be happy to help.

Progress Monitoring
National targets require schools to strive for all students to make at least ‘expected progress’ in between the end of Key Stage 2 (end of primary school) and the end of Key Stage 4 (GCSE results). With this in mind we have been developing our progress monitoring tools and making these available to students, parents and staff.

The new progress tracking grid on MyHighcliffe (for parents and students) shows clearly the progress being made in each of the subject areas. A green box indicates a positive move in progress.  Orange means that the student has stayed at the same level whilst a Red may indicate a student has perhaps taken a step backwards.

The Subject Progress Graphs are designed to show visually the progress being made in the core subjects of English, Mathematics and Science (or triple science if being taken).  The dotted lines are  guides to the ‘expected progress’ measure from the levels achieved at the end of KS2/Primary School but it must be noted that progress is very unlikely to be linear.  It would be unusual for students to track the line exactly and at some points during their school lives may be below the line, but the aim is to be on the line or above the line by the end of GCSEs
