The Highcliffe Challenge is firmly embedded in the learning culture of the school, making it clear that education is about more than simply passing exams.
It is a set of tasks that students complete at each key stage during their time at the school. They are designed to encourage students to take advantage of the wonderful range of learning opportunities available throughout their time at the school as well as to recognize the valuable contribution that students are able to make to the wider community.
These challenges allow students to claim recognition for a variety of activities including, but not restricted to, community work, taking on leadership roles, representing the school externally, participating in the International Dimension and making use of transferable skills as they progress through the school. Together with the proactive way in which students have to claim the credit and eventual award these have been designed to support and enhance the work that students undertake in the classroom, helping them develop as highly motivated, independent learners.
