School Closure

School Closed for all students except Y11 and Sixth Form students with timetabled examinations. Click here for more information.

Friday 18th January 2013

Because of the weather conditions that we are currently experiencing we have undertaken a review in accordance with our emergency procedures.  We are sorry to report that the school and surrounding access roads are covered in snow and the forecast is for this to get worse. We have also been notified that one transport company will not be running services (see below).

We are unable to clear the site and render the site safe for use and consequently we will therefore be closed today.

Year Eleven students taking the RPE examination this afternoon:

a)       Students travelling by school bus should travel to school as normal if possible. Amberley Bus Services and Solent Bus from Sway (school notified at 7:50am) have been suspended and will not run.

b)       Other students should report for the examination at 1pm if possible.
Update - Year 11 Students may attend in non-uniform.

Sixth Form students taking examinations today:

a)      We regret that we are unable to provide the normal minibus routes.

b)      If possible students should arrive at school for the start-time of their examination.

Other students:

Work for students will be set by staff and should be accessed via the website (MyHighcliffe – Home Study section).

We apologise for the inconvenience that this closure will inevitably cause and can assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly.
