Jonnie the Subway franchisee gave the students a fantastic insight into both the franchise model and marketing techniques used. More importantly the students were also treated by Jonnie to free sandwiches and drinks in preparation for their talk.
Ali Deeble, Personnel Manager at Waitrose, prepared an interactive session for the students that gave them first-hand experience of a group interview in addition to explaining the key processes of the Partnerships recruitment policy.
This visit will provide a valuable case study for their final business studies unit. On behalf of the school I would like to express my gratitude to both Jonnie and Ali for giving up their valuable time to support the students’ studies.
The Year 12 group was also recently treated to a Marketing seminar delivered by visitor Mr Ogborn making use of his studies through his Business degree and his time spent on placement with Intel.
The Year 10 Business classes are currently studying Communications. This work involves working with peers in small groups to produce a presentation that they then deliver to the rest of the class. The presentations need to demonstrate all key forms of communication including an inter-active element that encourages audience participation to enhance the learning experience.
