All the food produced by the competitors in a high pressure environment was of excellent quality and it was unfortunate that there could only be one overall winner. The competition was judged by a prestigious local chef who was impressed by the quality of the dishes produced.
The winner was Lauren who claimed first prize with her chicken risotto and sublime vanilla pannacotta. It was a stupendous performance by Lauren, a thoroughly deserving victor who will represent the school in the district competition that will takes place at Ferndown. Also worthy of mention is Lillie's Butternut Squash risotto and tasty rhubarb crumble tart which came a close second. Abby came third with a pork dish followed by a dazzling strawberry stack for dessert.
Mike Buglar from Highcliffe Rotary, who organises the event, commented “I'm delighted to get the benefit of some really great meals and to see what the youth of today can do. The others have all asked me to thank you for making them welcome, all of us were pleasantly surprised. Not only by the fantastic meals produced but by the professionalism of the whole event.”
