Highcliffe School Smashes Shoebox Target

Students, staff and parents from Highcliffe School passed a milestone this year, when they collected an outstanding 576 Christmas shoeboxes for needy children in Eastern Europe and Africa.

The school joins in with the Rotary Club Shoebox Scheme every year, always making 400 plus Christmas boxes, filled with toys, stationary, toiletries and clothes.  However, this year’s response has been the best ever. Assistant Headteacher, Mr Yapp said, “What a fantastic effort from everybody involved with our school! We set ourselves a target of creating over 500 boxes this year, and I am delighted that we have created so many more.”

Bill Baker, from Highcliffe Rotary Club confirmed the marvellous response by Highcliffe School, “Congratulations to Highcliffe School and all the other local organisations who together have provided a record number of Christmas shoeboxes this year. They will be distributed to needy children by Rotary Clubs receiving them in Albania, Montenegro, Tanzania and Romania. A fine example of Christmas goodwill and charity in action.”
