Phillips sisters took on all comers at the TY-GA World Martial Arts Championships at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London.

Following on from success earlier in the year at European level, the Phillips sisters took on all comers at the TY-GA World Martial Arts Championships at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre in London at the weekend.

The unique event featured Kick-boxing, Kung-fu, Taekwondo, and a number of Grand Masters were in attendance at this televised event.

The sisters specialise in Wado-Ryu Karate, and weeks of dedication and training were rewarded with a healthy medal haul.

Patchouli took silver in Under 18 Black Belt Kata, before clinching Gold in the Kumite fighting category, utilising her trademark speed to score with gak punches.

Not to be outdone, Jasmine, battled her way to also claim Gold in the Under 18 Brown Belt category, with a series of bruising encounters. Jasmine known for her aggressive style was forced to walk down her opponents avoiding counter punches to prevail.

Talia teamed up with her sisters as the trio won Silver in Junior Team Kata performing Sienchin a series of complex karate moves in perfect synchronicity, a skill that takes hours of training.

The talented trio train 3 times a week at ISMAA under the tutelage of Sensei Shaun Lanham at Bashley and Leaf Academy, and are looking forward to competing at the next World Championships to be held in New Delhi next November.
