Sisters win gold in Karate Championships

Three sisters, who attend Highcliffe School, bring back gold from the South England Martial Arts Open Karate Championships.

Massive well done and congratulations to three of our students and sisters, Jasmine (Year 10), Talia (Year 7) and Patchouli (Year 12), who this weekend competed in the South England Martial Arts Open Karate Championships in Sparkford, Somerset.

After some hard fights, all three girls came home clutching various awards, including golds for all.

Patchouli - Gold Individual Kata, Gold Individual Kumite, Gold Team Kata.

Jasmine - Gold Team Kata, Silver Individual Kumite, Bronze Individual Kata.

Talia - Double Gold in two age categories in Kumite, Gold in Team Kata as well as Competitor of the Tournament Award.

The sisters were all in the Team Kata together to win the Gold Medal.

Winning these events means that the sisters qualify to compete in the European Games in Liechtenstein in August as part of Team GB.

Well done, we can't wait to hear about your results from Liechtenstien!
