Sixth Former Wins an Award at Proud to Care Awards

Zoe Wins Volunteer of the Year Award at Bournemouth Echo's Proud to Care Awards

"Recently, I have been Volunteering at Highcliffe Day Care Centre one day a week in order to gain some experience in a care setting and to improve my empathy and communication skills. I have really enjoyed my time at the day care centre as not only has it been very educational but it has also been good fun meeting many new people.

On the 7th November, I attended the Daily Echo Proud to Care Awards after being nominated for a prize in the ‘Volunteer of the Year Award’ category. After getting a chance to meet and chat to some of the other nominees at the awards lunch, the winners were soon announced and I won my category. I would definitely recommend volunteering to all sixth form students, as the lessons I have learnt have been invaluable."
