Highcliffe School Smashes 500 Shoebox Target.

Every year the School joins in with the Rotary Club Shoebox Scheme, making and collecting Christmas shoeboxes for needy children around the world.

This year we collected 566 boxes - a fantastic amount – the third highest over the last 14 years. The boxes are for needy children across Eastern Europe.

The school joins in with the Rotary Club Shoebox Scheme every year, making Christmas boxes filled with toys, stationary, toiletries and clothes. Over 6000 boxes have been made by our school over the last 12 years! This year’s response has continued the trend.

Assistant Headteacher, Mr Yapp said, “What a fantastic effort from everybody involved with our school! We set ourselves a target of creating 500 boxes this year, and I am please to announce we smashed this target and completed 566 Christmas boxes.”

Ex Highcliffe Sixth Formers Chris and Joe Coombs collected 36 Christmas Shoeboxes with the help of their friends from Winchester University Hockey Team and the University Army Officer Training Corps. Joe and Chris said, "We always made shoe boxes at school and during our time at Highcliffe Sixth Form and we were delighted at the opportunity to get involved this year.  It’s such a wonderfully worthy cause and we are glad we could help".
