The Shine Project Health & Wellbeing Event
On 12th June 2017, 19-year nine students attended a visit to Bournemouth Pavilion to take part in the Shine Event.
This was a new event of its kind, planned to promote the physical and mental wellbeing to young teenage girls.
The students engaged with an amazing morning of activities including, an inspirational speaker, skincare demonstrations, workshops on dance, drama mindfulness and music.
Students really enjoyed the event and were very enthusiastic taking part in the workshops.
Staff were impressed with the open-minded approach of all the students and the enthusiasm with which they attacked the different activities. The girls were a credit to the school in the way they conducted themselves. We hope that there will be a repeat of the event next year.
Please see the following comment from a year 9 student who attended the event.
I think that there were a lot of interesting activities to do. The talk we had made me realise that you do not need to change for anyone and you should be proud with what you look like because everyone is unique in their own way.
